I’m a huge personal development geek and I like pushing myself out of my comfort zone to rapidly get better at things. Naturally, this means there are a lot of things I do now that I did not originally enjoy. As a recovering introvert, things like blogging or public speaking make me very uncomfortable.
However, reading this post pushed me over the edge to get off my ass and really push the boundaries of my comfort zone.
In quick summation, it outlines how caring too much about what people think about you can negatively affect your life, success, and happiness level. This was a wake-up call for me. Reading it reminded me of the importance of knowing one’s worth, putting yourself out there, and facing your fears because of how much it can hold you back.
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
― Bernard M. Baruch
This type of mindset really inspired me to really start blogging. I have a lot of friends that are killing it blogging and speaking i.e. Chris Lema and Syed Balkhis. The are so many benefits to it, such as personal brand building, help organizing my thoughts better, helping people etc. but I was holding back. I have written a bunch of blog posts but never published them due to the anxiety of judgement and that my posts would not be good enough. To me, there was something distressing to me about having my personal thoughts and work so out in the open and exposed. For this reason, public speaking was also hard for me. I recognize that this is something that needed improvement, so I joined Toastmasters. I am constantly working on bettering myself in any way that I can. I also really enjoy helping people, and understand that blogging is a great way to do this because it has the capacity to quickly reach the masses. So, why am I still not publishing my blog drafts?
This is going to change today. It is time to come out of my shell and stop giving a fuck what people think, and do whatever I want to do. For this reason, from this week forward, I am committing to publishing a blog post once a week.
Look out for them posts 🙂

Glad that I was able to convince you finally.
Took only 4 years :p
Great to hear this David. I too am diving (back) into blogging on my personal site as much as I can and I still struggle with the “stop giving a f@$%” part. I know I need to push through this hangup and YOUR post may just be the catalyst that inspires me to push MY boundaries.
So congrats on helping someone already;)
