What were the last three books you read? This is a question I often ask in job interviews. It’s a question that can tell me right away just how seriously someone takes their own self-development.
But I also ask it for another, simpler reason: to get book recommendations! I firmly believe that lasting — note: lasting being the key word here — success is only possible with a solid foundation. And what better way to build that foundation than by reading books?
Think about it: books are a look into the thoughts, strategies, and mindsets of other people. Choose wisely, and you can peer into the minds of the world’s greatest leaders and strategists! With a few awesome books, you can arm yourself for any obstacle you face on your path to greatness.

Of course, as every avid reader knows, the trick to enjoying reading is finding great books packed with incredible content. This is why I’m starting a new series here to help you build your own foundation for success.
Every two weeks, I’ll write a quick review about one of the books that have changed my life. I’ll flesh out each review with key takeaways, a little context, and actionable advice you can apply immediately after reading.
So far, we’ve reviewed the following books:
- Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
- Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill
- The Dip by Seth Godin
- The Lean Startup by Eric Ries
Stay tuned for our next book review. Want to know what book I’ll talking about next? Enter your email below and I’ll let you know which book is up next, as well as filling you in as soon as a new review has been published. See you on the inside.
